We met for the first time in 2009, she was studying Italian, I was studying Chinese. Our friendship took shape in the need of each other to improve knowledge of the languages we were studying at that time. We ended up speaking about similarities and differences between Italy and China...the former certainly outnumbers the latter!
For most of our friendship, we lived the space of China. In 2010, she came to Italy. Our space of mutual understanding and knowledge finally made itself complete.

Traveling certainly is one of the most enriching experiences in human existence. No matter if it is done out of mere curiosity and enjoyment, to pursue professional endeavors, or to reach our loved ones, it always offer the chance to broaden one's cultural and aesthetic horizons. However, one must be prepared to grasp this chance. The author of this book certainly was. I met Lucrezia a few years ago in Beijing, while I was a young officer at the Embassy of Italy. Shortly after my return to Italy, I was glad to receive news from Lucrezia over her upcoming visit in Italy. We agreed that myself, together with another good friend of Lucrezia, Martina, would accompany her through the Veneto region stretch of her travel, from Venice to Belluno's Dolomite Mountains, through the Prosecco region north of the city of Treviso. I have to admit that this turned out to be an extremely stimulating experience for me. Indeed, looking at landscapes, arts, and nature through the eyes of a curious, culturally vivacious, and enthusiastic traveller(like Lucrezia surely is! ) gave me the chance to rediscover once more the beauty of my native region. The curiosity and sense of wonder which I appreciated so much in Lucrezia are the major characteristic which can be found in this book, together with detailed descriptions of visited places which surely would well serve the readers in their own travel at the discovery of Italy. Let's this travel through Italy begin then:“Bon voyage! ”
