Potions Bottles

This preliminary sketch by Jim Kay, in preparation for the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, shows the intricate detail of a selection of potions bottles. Each bottle seems full of life even before the vibrant colours have been applied, and the highly ornate design illustrates the imaginative scope of what they could contain.
