By the time he began classes at Harvard, Zuckerberg had already achieved a reputation(声望)as “a programming prodigy(奇才)”.

Career
Zuckerberg launched Facebook in his Harvard dormitory room in 2004. An earlier inspiration(灵感)for Facebook may have come from Phillips Exeter Academy, it published its own student directory, “The Photo Address Book”, which students referred to as “The Facebook”. Once at college, Zuckerberg's Facebook started off as just a “Harvard thing” until Zuckerberg decided to spread(传播)it to other schools, enlisting the help of roommate. After Zuckerberg moved to Palo Alto , they leased a small house that served as an office. Zuckerberg met Peter Thiel who invested in the company.

A lot of stuff that goes on with the company is really organic(有机的)right now and isn't necessarily formalized. Although, maybe it will be in a short period of time as we continue to grow. I think that as organizations grow, a lot of the issues and structure that's put in place is put there because a comfort level breaks down and people communicating freely in a way that they can't when they're friends. And if you're working with your friend, you can tell him or her whatever you're thinking, and it's not going to offend(冒犯)him or her. And they'll probably comprehend(理解)it similarly to how you imagined it. I mean language isn't really a perfect idea transmission vehicle.
So I think one of the things that I do focus on at Facebook is making sure that culture is very friendly and that people hang out. So instead of having 20% of people's time spent working on their own projects, I make people hang out with each other. So I think that by doing that, I can't force you to hang out outside work, but I can make it so that people are more comfortable with each other and can communicate more freely.

在Facebook,有一点我十分关注,就是确保友好的企业文化,大家都泡在一起。我愿意让他们待在一起。我不能强迫大家工作之余也待在一起,但我可以让他们在相处的时候觉得更舒服,交流更自由。
