The Connotation and Origin of Huang Kan's Systematic and Methodical Study

Abstract:“The study of system and order”is the essence of Huang Kan's philology.Huang established the modern standards of Chinese language philology with the primary puesuits that exploring rules, summarying methods and building the systems in his academic ideology.“The study of system and order”concluding the comprehensive research of grapheme, phoneme and semantics and exploring the orgin and development of language philology embodies distinctive thoughts of the system and searching for the root, which is closely related to his high regard for Shuowenjiezi.On research methods, his sound trial, internal evidence method and comparative cross motivation all embody a systematic cross methodology.On the level of academic system, Huang defined the internal discipline system and the general frame of Chinese language philology.With the profound historical orgin of“The study of system and order”, Huang absorbed the essential thoughts of puxue from Gu Yanwu to Zhang Taiyan, and made the study of Zhang Huang a research paradigms of the language philology in modern sence. In tracebility of academic history, “The study of system and order”resonates the values of inheriting tradition, correcting comtemporary problems and opening new knowledge.
