Ⅰ.Brief Introduction to the Speaker

Tony Porter is an educator, activist and lecturer who has been working in the social justice arena for over 20 years.He is both nationally and internationally recognized for his effort to end men's violence against women and to promote healthy and respectful manhood.Tony is the co-founder and co-director of“A CALL TO MEN:The Next Generation of Manhood.”

Tony is a consultant and trainer with the National Football League, having also worked with the National Basketball Association. He's currently working extensively with numerous colleges and universities throughout the country.He has also worked with the United States Military Academy at West Point and the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis.Additionally, he provides training and technical assistance to grassroots community based organizations to include local, state and national domestic and sexual violence initiatives and programs.Tony is an international lecturer for the U.S. State Department having worked in numerous countries in Africa.Additionally, he has been a guest presenter to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and a script consultant for“Law&Order:Special victims unit.”

Tony's 2010 TED Talk“A Call to Men”has been named by GQ magazine as one of the“Top 10 TED Talks Every Man Should See.”
