Kate: I'm going to pick up some vitamins from the store.
Jack: Do you take vitamins?
Kate: Sure. Don't you?
Jack: Not really.I have a good diet and get all the vitamins I need. Unless my doctor prescribes them, I don't take them.
Kate: Yeah.Well, the thing is,it's hard to tell if we're getting the proper amounts of all the vitamins we need. I just take one multi-vitamin tablet a day. I don't abuse them. That's dangerous.
Jack: Glad to hear it.I agree, though, that we sometimes take our health and diet for granted.
Kate: Someone I know broke his arm recently, and the doctor told him he was calcium deficient. He couldn't believe it. He drank milk, ate cheese and thought he had a calcium-rich diet. But he was wrong.
Jack: Yeah. These days, eating all the right food may not even be enough for your body. Vegetables and fruits, for example, grow so quickly that plants can't build up enough vitamins by thetime they're harvested.
Kate: So that explains all these interest in juicers and eating more fruits and vege in concentrated form, not to mention popping lots of vitamin tablets just to be sure.
Jack: I see your point.Well in that case, pick up some multi-vitamin tablets for me too, if you don't mind.
Kate: Not at all. Glad to.
