Linda: We were talking about great minds in class today. Really fascinating stuff!
Mike: Who came up for conversation?
Linda: Well, Leonardo da Vinci of course, and some guy I had never heard of before.
Mike: Who was that?
Linda: Some guy was called Luca Pacioli, who taught Leonardo geometry.
Mike: Yes. He is a famous geometer and is also called the Father of Accounting.
Linda: Really? Did he invent accounting or something?
Mike: No. Accounting has been around for thousands of years, but he was the first to publish a book on the accounting practices of the Genoan and Venetian merchants, which we call the double-entry book-keeping method.
Linda: Naturally, we also talked about the great philosophers like Plato and Aristotle, but it all went in one ear and out the other.
Mike: Well, you can thank Plato and Aristotle for asking and answering many of life's important questions, and of course for teaching us their thinking techniques.
Linda: Thanks for the summary.I think I'll look up those two guys again.
Mike: Hey, glad I could help.
