Democracy in China

The pursuit of democracy has been a significant subject for Chinese people to acquire modern status and national identity since the mid-19th century. The Chinese Communist Party has, since establishment, been leading Chinese people to hold high the great banner of democracy, and has, in the purpose of pursuing and achieving democracy, and in the manner of integrating Marxist democratic theories into concrete practice of Chinese revolution and construction, presented socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics, found and created a new path for socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics. Although the Chinese Communist Party has taken wrong paths and experienced failures in the course of exploring and constructing democratic politics, its pursuit and determination of leading the people to construct socialist democracy have never been shaken. The Communists are determined to achieve democracy without a little hesitation. The exploration of democracy in China, therefore, is a twisted long way. Clarification of democratic development road headed by the Chinese Communist Party is conducive to mastering the law and direction of democratic construction, so as to raise Chinese democratic construction to a new height and make China become a country with socialist democracy and laws.
