4.7　Slag Yard and Industrial Waste Yard

4.7.1　Metallurgical slag and industrial wastes from the iron and steel plant shall be put into comprehensive use after treatment.Land for comprehensive utilization facilities and auxiliary facilities shall be taken into consideration in the general layout of slag yard and industrial waste yard.

4.7.2　Metallurgical slag and industrial waste from the iron and steel plant should be stockpiled separately in a centralized field.

4.7.3　On the premise that the development of iron and steel plant is not affected and the land is rationally used，the slag yard shall be located as close to the metallurgical slag discharging point as possible.

4.7.4　Molten slag treatment yard should be located inside the plant area.

4.7.5　Slag yard and industrial waste yard must not be located in the nature reserve，scenic spot and historical site，potable water source protection area，prime farmland protection area and other areas which need special protection，as designated by the People's government of provincial level or upper level.

4.7.6　Slag yard and industrial waste yard must not be located at places in which dumping and stockpile of waste are prohibited by laws and regulations，such as rivers，lakes，canals，channels，reservoirs，as well as the overflow lands and bank slopes below the highest water level of the same.

4.7.7　Anti-emission，anti-erosion and anti-leakage as well as other pollution preventive measures must be taken for the slag yard and industrial waste yard.

4.7.8　The slag yard and industrial waste yard shall enjoy convenient external transportation conditions.

4.7.9　Stockpile volume of the slag yard and industrial waste yard shall be determined appropriately according to the comprehensive utilization status of the materials therein.The industrial waste yard should have the capability of stockpiling the industrial waste which can not be utilized so far for at least ten years in the initial phase.

4.7.10　If possible，the slag yard and industrial waste yard shall make the most of the elevation difference of natural landform to improve the stockpile volume，and the stockpile height should not be less than 10m.
