3　Basic Requirments

3.0.1　The chimney construction project may be divided into unit or sub-unit works.The divisional work of chimney construction may be broken down to foundation，shaft，platform，corrosion resistance，and ancillary works etc.The tower reinforced steel chimney may be separated into two divisional works，the tower and shaft.Based on the different chimney type，the shaft work may be divided into several sub-divisional works.When a divisional work only includes one itemized work，the itemized work shall be defined as a divisional work.The detailed definination may be in accordance with Table 3.0.1.

3.0.2　The chimney divisional work shall be composed of one or several inspection batches.The inspection batches of each divisional work shall be defined in accordance with the relevant provisions of this code.

3.0.3　The standards of qualified quality of inspection batches shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1　Quality of main control items shall comply with the relevant provisions of this code.When the quantity for inspection is not noticed，all items shall be fully inspected.

2　Quality of general items shall be qualified after sampling inspection.When count inspection is applied，except for specific requirements，80% and more of the test results shall meet the requirements of standards of qualified quality of this code，and also without serious defects，or the maximum deviation must not exceed 1.2 times of the permitted amount.

3　Have complete construction operation basis，quality inspection records and approval documents.

3.0.4　The standards of qualified quality for itemized works shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1　Each inspection batch of itemized works shall meet the requirements of qualified quality.

2　Quality control documents shall be complete.

3.0.5　The standards of qualified quality for divisional and sub-divisional works shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1　The quality of each itemized work of divisional and sub-divisional works shall be qualified for acceptance.

2　Quality control documents shall be complete.

3　The test and sampling inspection results related to safety and function shall comply with the relevant provisions of this code.

4　The acceptance for the appearance quality shall meet the requirements.

3.0.6　The standards of qualified quality for chimney project shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1　The quality of each divisional and sub-divisional works of the chimney project shall be qualified for acceptance.

2　Quality control documents shall be complete.

3　The safety and function test documents of each divisional and sub-divisional works of the chimney project shall be complete.

4　The acceptance for the appearance quality shall meet the requirements.

3.0.7　When the quality of chimney construction does not meet the requirements，it shall be processed according to following requirements:

1　Inspection batches with reworked or replaced appliances，equipment shall be subject to acceptance again.

2　The inspection batch that has been inspected and identified by a qualified Inspection firm to meet the design requirements，shall be accepted.

3　The inspection batch not meeting the design requirements upon inspection and identification by a qualified inspection firm，but has been approved by the original design firm to meet the structural safety and service function，may be accepted.

4　The divisional or itemized works with repair or reinforcement，having dimension changed and meeting the requirements of safe service，may be accepted according to technical solutions and agreed documents.

3.0.8　When the repaired or reinforced divisional and unit works can not reach the requirements of chimney safe operation，the acceptance is rejected.

3.0.9　There shall be qualified certificate or performance test report for the construction materials of chimney project.For cement，sand，stone，rebar，admixtures and acid-proof material，the re-examination report for main properties shall be submitted.The re-examination report of rebar shall be complied with the relevant provisions of the current national standard GB 50205 Steel Construction Quality Acceptance.

3.0.10　The chimney constructor shall hold appropriate qualifications.On site quality management shall include appropriate construction technical standards，complete quality management system，construction quality control and quality inspection regulations.

3.0.11　The standard of construction quality control for general clay brick lining and the brick chimney shell，shall be not under the Grade B requirements of the current national standard GB 50203 Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Masonry Engineering.The standard of construction quality control for firebrick lining，corrosion resistance lining of masonry and brick flue，shall comply with the Grade A requirements of the current national standard GB 50203 Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Masonry Engineering.
