6.6　Local Stress in Column Shells

6.6.1　Where the following external loads are applied on the column shell,the local stress in column shell shall be calculated and checked:

a)Thrust(force and moment)from the connected piping;

b)Action force from internal and external attachments of the column(e.g.,brackets,lifting lugs,pipe supports).

6.6.2　The local stress in column shell may be calculated and checked using stress analysis and calculation method.
