Foreword

According to the requirements specified in the Plan for Revising and Developing Professional Standards in 2008(Document Number:[2008]No.1242)issued by the General Administration Office of National Development and Reform Commission,this specification is revised by its development team based on wide and intensive investigations and studies made,practices summarized,comments requested as well as references to international codes and advanced foreign standards.

This Specification comprises 11 chapters and 6 appendixes.

The main technical contents of this Specification include:

—The principle for performance design,structure design,material selection,major components design and configuration of heavy duty centrifugal pumps.

—The requirements for accessories,auxiliary piping systems,controls and instrumentation.

—The requirements for inspection and testing,packaging,shipment and document preparation.

The specification is built on the basis of domestic and aboard manufacturer’s practice and the requirements by petrochemical industry.International standard ISO13709-2003(API std 610-2004)and ISO 21049-2003(API std 682-2004)are references for the specification and some items are quoted.

Sinopec Machinery Technology Center is responsible for management of the specification,and SINOPEC Shanghai Engineering Company Limited is responsible for the explanation of specific technical contents.

The relevant opinions and advices during the process of implementing this specification,whenever necessary,can be posted or passed on to management Organization and Chief Development Organization.
