1　Scope

1.1　This specification covers the requirements for the design,fabrication,inspection and testing of the heavy duty centrifugal pumps,their drivers and accessories for petrochemical industry.

This specification is applicable to the design and procurement for heavy duty centrifugal pumps in petrochemical industry.For pumps operated in the application which exceed the heavy duty services,this specification could be a reference standard.

1.2　Heavy duty centrifugal pump in petrochemical industry refer to the pump operates in each of following conditions:

a)To be used in flammable and/or hazardous environments,unless otherwise specified;

b)To be used in nonflammable and nonhazardous environments,but the operating conditions shall be as below:

1)Rated discharge pressure:>1.9MPa(G);

2)Operating temperature(liquid temperature):≥225℃;

3)Rated rotative speed>3000r/min;

4)Rated total head>120m;

5)Maximum suctionpressure>0.5MPa(G);

6)Maximum impeller diameter for overhung pumps>330mm;

c)Pumps to be running in reverse as hydraulic power recovery turbines.

Note:Clause 4 of API Std 610-2004 is quoted by this specification for the pump destination and classification.
