Preface
The Photography Talents Training Project for Ethnic Minorities is sponsored by China Literature and Art Foundation under the aegis of the Personnel Department of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles(CFLAC), and is hosted by China Photographers Association(CPA)and jointly prepared by the Education Commission of China Photographers Association and Beijing Photographic Correspondence Institute. As an important initiative to thoroughly implement thecultural spirit conveyed by the Party Central Committee, the program aims to cultivate the backbone talents of ethnic minorities by relying on abundant photography resources from China Photographers Association while promoting cultural and social development in regions inhabited by ethnic minorities and further reinforcing ethnic development and unity.
The 5th training session under the project was held in Beijing in November 2017. 62 trainees from different ethnic groups came from all over the country, including Mongol, Hui, Tibetan, Yao, Zhuang, Miao, Tujia, Uyghur, Yi, Dong, Dai, Bai, Yugur, Manchu, Luoba, Kazak, and Buyi to attend this 10-day session taught by renowned masters in photography and benefited significantly from it.
We have hereby arranged the publication of the works from outstanding trainees of the 5th training session, which are divided into three units, Home · Transition, Folk Customs · Kaleidoscop and People · Life, focusing on home secenes and infrastructure, unique folk-customs of ethnic minorities, living conditions and faces of the people.
To record life, express states of mind, and keep memories, we look forward to sharing with more friends.
