Health check

Doing a health check or health assessment of your current environment is critical, especially before some tasks, such as migration or upgrade. However, it can be used also during the entire life cycle of your environment, for example, to discover wasted resources, possible issues, mismatch with best practices, tools, and so on. Depending on how often your environment changes, you may need to perform this kind of task more frequently.

From a budget perspective, most companies do a deep health check on their environment every 6 or 12 months, but this may vary in each case. From a management point of view, a continuous health check would be best, but of course, in this case, you need to automate as much as possible and use the right tools. Several tools could be used to also perform other analysis, not only the health check.
