Preface

There are 200 million children with disabilities all over the world.The right protection for the disabled children is the common responsibility for the governments and all walk of the societies in the world.

For further promote the protection for the children with disabilities in China，China Disabled Persons’Federation and UNICEF launched the cooperative project for the protection of disabled children.The mission of the project is to help the children with disabilities into mainstream society through the creation of equal opportunities and improvement of the related legislation and policies.

The survey on the status and needs for the children with disabilities was taken in Guangzhou and Dongying city jointly held by CDPF and UNICEF in 2009.Many basic data were obtained during the survey，including the physical condition，rehabilitation status，education situation and household information for the local disabled children.Many experts were invited to do further research on the survey data and several seminars on the legislation research of protecting the right of disabled children were also held during this period.Now，we edited the related result into the book，as the reference materials on the legislation research on the protection of the children with disabilities.
