Our great country，with a long history of industrial civilization，goes forward vigorously.Copper-casting dated back to Shang and Zhou dynasties； iron-making started from Qin and Han dynasties； wine-brewing and salt-making were ancient unparalleled scenery； silk and porcelain were exquisite beyond compare； military years left the country with beautiful prose； crafts and devices were invented into space and sea； with its culture inherited and passed on，China can regain its former glory.

Industry is the base of a great country，and culture is the soul of a nation. “Culture is a country and nation's soul，” General Secretary Xi Jinping said in a report to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. “Our country will thrive only if our culture thrives，and our nation will be strong only if our culture is strong.Without full confidence in our culture，without a rich and prosperous culture，the Chinese nation will not be able to rejuvenate itself.” Promoting excellent industrial culture and inheriting industrial spirit areindispensable parts of building a manufacturing power.

Since the founding of New China，under the leadership of the Communist Party of China，China has established a complete industrial system.From different stages come Daqing spirit， “two bombs and one satellite” spirit，manned spaceflight spirit，lunar exploration spirit and other industrial spirits of the times.

Industrial heritage is an important carrier of industrial culture and spirit.Formed in various periods，China's industrial heritage containsrich economic and social values，and is a unique resource for developing new business forms，creating new driving forces and expanding new space.In order to strengthen the protection and utilization of industrial heritage，the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued Guidance on Promoting the Development of Industrial Culture in 2016.In 2020，the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission and other five departmentsissued the Implementation Program for the Promotion of the Protection and Utilization of Industrial Heritage in Old Industrial Cities.In the document were written thesignificance，overall requirements，major tasks and organization and implementation of industrial heritage protection and utilization.

From 2017 to 2019，the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized and identified three batches of 102 national industrial heritage，and issued Interim Measures for the Administration of National Industrial Heritage，which stipulated the identification procedures，protection management，utilization and development of industrial heritage.This work has protected a number of important industrial heritage sites，improved the level of activation and utilization in various places，and combined the protection and utilization of industrial heritages with urban transformation and development，which has been widely recognized and praised by all sides of the society.

In order to better display the style and cultural connotations of the industrial heritage，entrusted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology，China Industry News Agency and other units collected and compiled typical cases and advanced experience of the third batch of national industrial heritage after the good response of compilation and publication ofNational Industrial Heritage （the First and the Second Batches）.The National Industrial Heritage （the Third Batch），not only includes a large number of heritage history，core items，and industrial figures and stories，but also contains the transformation and development，business reconstruction and urban renewal experience and practices，hoping to provide reference for further promoting the innovation and development of industrial culture industry in verious regions.
