Reforming the Global Governance System in Response to Changes in the World

As global problems and challenges grow in number,people all over the world are asking for greater efficiency in global governance and a better global governance system.The world is now undergoing profound changes, leading to growing uncertainties. It has become increasingly difficult for the current governance system to address all the risks and challenges. The whole world is pressed for reform, but the road ahead is not clear. China, a major country on the rise, should be bold enough to take on its due responsibility in helping to transform the global governance system for the future of all mankind.

As President Xi Jinping put it at the China-France Global Governance Forum, “Facing the grave global challenges and standing at the crossroads of human development, all countries should take responsibility for the world and be actors rather than bystanders. We should work together to ensure the future of mankind is in our own hands.” In recent years, China has been actively promoting multilateral cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and proposed the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, contributing the Chinese wisdom and Chinese approach to global governance.
