Chapter Two The CPC Emerged from a Period of Revolution, Reconstruction, Reform and Opening Up
We have made it clear that in order to better understand the relationship between the CPC and Chinese traditions and civilization, we must appreciate that Chinese Communism is an integral part of the great Chinese nation and that the Party has always applied and adapted Marxism to the Chinese context in its guiding ideology. This is how the Party has upheld Marxism while carrying forward the best traditions of China's civilization. While reviewing its historical experience, it has explored a path that conforms to China's national conditions, formulated major strategies, principles and policies, and strengthened itself. It has led all Chinese people in advancing revolution, reconstruction and reform, and achieved one historic success after another.
