9.2 Selection of Transportation Mode for Mine
Ⅰ Transport of ore and rock in surface mine
9.2.1 Truck should be used as the means of transport for surface mine with complicated ore body attitude and requiring separate mining and separate transport of different ores,or the surface mine with complicated terrain condition.
9.2.2 Standard-gauge railway transportation should be adopted for the large-scale mountain-slope surface mine with gentle graded terrain condition, long spread pit,and conditions for arranging railway tracks.Nonetheless, truck transportation should be available for stripping of the mountain top and preparation of the new mining level of the surface mine.
9.2.3 Gravity shaft(chute)and adit transport should be used for the mountain-slope surface mine with complicated terrain condition, steep slope, and big mining height.
9.2.4 Truck-belt conveyer combined transport should be used for the large scale deep pit mine.
9.2.5 Where the surface mine using railway transport has its mining operation moved deeper from mountain slope down to deep inside, the existing railway transport facilities shall be extended or renovated as far as practical so as to create condition for further use.As the mining operation moves deeper, truckrailway combined transport may be adopted.
9.2.6 Truck-railway-skip combined transport may be used for surface mine with high stripping ratio where other transportation modes are not suitable.
9.2.7 The ramp winch-narrow-gauge railway combined transport may be used for the surface mine where narrow-gauge railway transport is employed and where the terrain condition is suitable for winch arrangement.
Ⅱ Surface transport of underground mine
9.2.8 When narrow-gauge railway is used in the underground workings and cage is used for lifting the ore from underground to surface, the same kind of narrow-gauge railway transport as used for the workings shall be adopted on the ground surface.
9.2.9 When skip is used for lifting the ore from underground to surface, truck, railway or belt conveyer transport may be adopted on the ground surface.Where the terrain between the ore bunker at shaft(adit)mouth and the ore unloading point is complicated, belt conveyer transport should be used.
9.2.10 When railway, truck or belt conveyer is used for ore transport from underground to the shaft mouth, the same transportation mode should be adopted on the ground surface.
9.2.11 Aerial tramway transport may be used in case of complicated terrain, big elevation difference, crossing over deep valley/river,and if annual transport volume is no more than 1.50 million t/a.
Ⅲ External transport of raw ore(beneficiated ore)
9.2.12 Whereever possible, railway transport should be used for the mine with large raw ore transport volume, long transport distance and long expected production time.
9.2.13 Belt conveyer transport should be used where there is large raw ore transport volume, single variety ore transportation and favorable terrain condition.
9.2.14 Techno-economic comparison shall be conducted during selection of the transporation mode for beneficiated ore, aiming to choose the best from available options.
