7 Storage of Raw Materials(Fuels)
7.1 General Requirements
7.1.1 Normally, raw materials(fuels)should be stacked on grade, and may be stored in silos if no much area is available, general layout is difficult or stringent environmental protection requirements are proposed.
7.1.2 Stockyard area shall be determined based on various factors such as the properties and volume of raw materials(fuels)stored and stockpile coefficient shall not be less than 0.7.
7.1.3 Raw materials(fuels)should be stored in unroofed stockyard. In rainy or snowy regions, enclosed or semi-enclosed warehouses shall be constructed to ensure minimum 3-day demand.Where raw materials(fuels)should not be stored in open air, they shall all be stored in enclosed or semi-enclosed warehouses.
7.1.4 Design of raw material(fuel)stockyards and warehouses shall conform to GB 50160,and appropriate fire control provisions shall be made.
7.1.5 Drainage facilities shall be provided around raw material(fuel)stockyards to collect water drained from the stockyards, and contaminated water shall be discharged after it is treated and accepted.
7.1.6 Selection of stacking and reclaiming machines equipped in raw material(fuel)stockyards shall comply with the following requirements:
a)For storage volume below 5kt and required reclaiming capacity below 50t/h,single bucket loaders and bulldozers should be used.
b)For storage volume below 30kt and required reclaiming capacity below 200t/h,loading/unloading bridges, gantry grab cranes and bridge grab cranes should be used.
c)For storage volume above 30kt and required reclaiming capacity above 200t/h,bucket wheel stackerreclaimers or separate stackers and reclaimers should be used.
7.1.7 Various cranes and loading/unloading bridges for raw material(fuel)storage service shall have a minimum duty rating of Class A6.
7.1.8 If loading/unloading bridges, gantry grab cranes and bucket wheel stacker-reclaimers are used in very cold regions, their structural members shall be killed steel. And if they are used in coastal regions, provisions against corrosion from salt mist shall be made.
7.1.9 Number of bulldozers and loaders for stacking and reclaiming operations shall be determined according to the storage volume and their mechanical performance, and the number of standby bulldozers and loaders should not be less than 50%of the total machines required.
7.1.10 Stockyards for storing coal categories prone to self-ignition should be compacted using tire bulldozers.
