Foreword

According to the requirements of"Notice on Printing the Development and Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standards in 2004"（Jian Biao［2004］NO.67），issued by Ministry of Construction（MOC），this code is amended from GBJ 78-85 Code for construction and acceptance of chimney engineering by China MCC Jingtang Construction Co.，Ltd.and relavant parties.

In the revising process，the editorial staff conscientiously summarized the experience regarding to chimney design，construction，research and performance，collected extensive advice from relevant parties and experts across the country.After repeated discussion and modification，the version was reviewed and finalized.

The revised code comprises 15 chapters and 5 appendixes.The main contents are:

1.The contents related to quality inspection are given，and main control items and general items are put into the same table.

2.Chapter"Terms"is given.The selected terms mainly relate to key words of chimney engineering.

3.Chapter"Basic Requirements"is given.It includes common regulations of the chimney construction and acceptance.

4.Contents of truncated cone composite shell foundation and M shape composite shell foundation were removed.

5.Contents related to massive concrete are given.

6.The standard of the permitted deviation for the center axis of chimney shaft has been much more raised.

7.More contents of chapter"Steel chimney and steel flue"，"Chimney Platform"and"Chimney Corrosion Resistance"are given.

8.In the chapter"Lining and Insulation"，contents of unshaped refractory lining are given.

9.Partial contents of general requirements of construction methods were removed.

10.Contents of winter construction for steel structure and unshaped refractory are given.

The provisions printed in bold type are compulsory ones and must be enforced strictly.
