Creating Salesforce Communities
To create Salesforce community in your developer organization consider the following steps :
- Enable Communities if your organization does not have it enabled:
- Enter the domain name for your community and save the community. The following screenshot shows how one can add a domain:
- Use the navigation path Setup | Communities | All Communities | <Your Community> | New Community to create a new community. Choose the right template. The following screenshot shows the template selection screen. For all our use cases, we will select the Napili template as it is the most powerful and has a rich set of out-of-the-box components:
Once you are in your community, you will need to be on Builder to see all the Lightning Components supported by Salesforce.
- To navigate to Builder, click on the Community Workspace link for the community. The navigation path is Setup | Communities | All Communities | <Your Community> | Community Workspace.
Click on the Community Builder to navigate to the Builder:
The following screenshot shows the Lightning Components that are out of box offered by Salesforce Community Cloud. Notice that the Unanswered Questions component is part of the Einstein offerings for the Community Builder, which uses data science and machine learning to show Unanswered Questions to the users:
You can drag the unanswered components to the Community Builder.
